Addressing Issues Faced by Adolescent Girls, “Rosh Hodesh: It’s a Girl Thing,” Moving Traditions, $20,000 (Year 2 Renewal) — Helps pre-teen and teen girls grapple with body image, stress, popularity, friendships and developing healthy relationships through a Jewish lens. The program builds girls’ self-esteem, leadership skills, and Jewish identity.
Teen Dating Violence Prevention, Jewish Coalition Against Domestic Abuse (JCADA), $10,000 (Year 2 Renewal) — Creation of a new interactive web site targeted to teach teens and disseminate information about healthy relationships.
Public Policy and Social Activism, Girls’ Panim el Panim Seminar, PANIM: The Institute for Jewish Leadership and Values, $10,000 — Brings Jewish teen girls across the country to Washington, D.C. to explore public policy and social activism through a Jewish perspective. The girls’ seminar brings a unique gender lens to this program, equipping girls to become advocates for themselves and other women and girls in the public arena.
