In an age when identity politics are taking center stage in America and in Israel, we are witnessing how the most effective social change happens when communities themselves get activated. The Israeli NGO, Kolech: Religious Women’s Forum, is an inspiring example. As the first Orthodox feminist organization in Israel, Kolech is brining social change in Israeli religious society by advocating for pluralism, gender equality, and fighting for equal opportunities for women in the public arena, including the advancement of women’s rights in religious and halachic spheres.

Join us for a special evening with Yael Rockman, Executive Director of Kolech, and hear about how religious women in Israel are challenging the status quo. Yael will speak about her vision for an inclusive Israel and why it matters now.

Attorney Yael Rockman is the Executive Director of Kolech and an Orthodox feminist activist. Before joining Kolech, Yael cofounded the Center for Woman’s Justice and was active in defending the rights of Jewish woman denied their Get (religious divorce) by recalcitrant husbands. She was appointed to head Kolech in 2015. Yael has degrees in Psychology and Law from Bar Ilan University.
